Lectures "Cause toujours!"
How is a musical piece structured? What artistic current does she belong to and why? What are the period instruments on which the musicians of Galileo perform and what is the point of using them in the 21st century?
So many questions — and answers! — addressed during the “Cause toujours!” moments, a program of talks and dialogues led by members of Galileo and interspersed, if necessary, with sound illustrations, one hour before the concerts.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, these talks have been replaced, when union conditions permit it, by intermission-interviews broadcasted during breaks between the two parts of a concert.
Immersion program "Dans la cour des grands"
Do you play a string or wind instrument and dream of performing masterpieces by Mozart, Beethoven and tutti quanti as part of a professional orchestra?
Galileo could give you the opportunity with its immersion program “Dans la cour des grands”, a unique participatory activity allowing non-professional musicians to join the Orchestra during rehearsals and concerts dedicated to them.
Originally designed for high school students in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, for whom it is primarily intended, this immersive workshop is offered to anyone who plays an instrument used in symphonic works.
Participants then have the opportunity to play classical repertoire to which they might only have limited access as part of their usual musical activities. Moreover, they are immersed in the context of a professional orchestra performing top-notch classical works.
The Covid-19 pandemic having put the program on hold from 2020 to 2023, it resumes its flight in 2023-2024, with the participation of the Orchestre des jeunes de Vaudreuil-Soulanges at the "Mendelssohn voyage!" concert, on June 15, 2024.
